Late summer
It feels pretty great to wake up with purpose. I get up, make the horse's stall ready, steep some tea and tend to my growing garden.
My significant other is leaving for Vermont soon, with no one else wanting to care for his plants, i decided to step in, to turn my dead black thumb into a rejuvinated green one. I have wished for a green thumb for too long. He gave me his huge stockpile of mint, a bushel of basil, a fake rosemary, a strange sage nearly dead, wee strawberry runners, and gave me his wild purslane that i knew was edible.
All is going well, with me learning valuable information in the process. I have also transplanted cuttings of farmer's market veggies to a small dish of water, to regain roots and grow new stalks. Along the way i have dried many seeds of the plants that i have been eating- locally grown, found wild, or garden harvested.
A long term goal of mine is to live old-fashioned/naturally in my own way. The self-sufficient lifestyle is what i strive for. It feels so right and i do not think i would be happy any other way
